Last night (GMT +8 ) I uploaded a few Chinese language subtitles. If my memory serves me correctly they were for 'Bangkok Dangerous', 'Wall-E', 'Rob B Hood' and 'Burn After Reading'. 402 Subtitle has invalid format

I get this error uploading some simplified Chinese subtitles. The subtitles are in srt format using GB2312 encoding (the standard for simplified Chinese). The subtitles themselves play without error. I've uploaded quite a few like them before without problem. Any idea what's triggering the message? ...
