Hi, I just downloaded the French subtitles for the 1st series of The Office(uk) but 'à' 'ê' 'ç' 'ñ' etc are all showing up as 'Ѱ' 'И' 'Л' 'Ѳ' etc...

any idea's how to solve this problem? can't find the french subtitles anywhere else than here.

im using VLC.

thank you!

The subtitles look fine to me. It must be a problem with your computer not recognising these accented letters. I suppose you're computer's default language is Russian or Eastern European. Perhaps you should try to install Latin fonts.

I think it's more of a WINDOWS problem. Does it do the same thing with other French subtitles?

Hey are you French? Will you give a listen to this short audio clip, and tell me what he says, in French?

I don't know if this will work, but you might try this if you are using WINDOWS:

START => CONTROL PANEL => REGIONAL & LANGUAGE OPTIONS => LANGUAGES

There should be a couple of options for "Additonal Language Support".

Maybe if you have the option for western European (Latin 1) fonts, you could try to install them by ticking one of the boxes.

I have never tried to do this, so I am not sure what else is involved.

Good Luck.
