Nope, the browser plays the video. Actually, the audio of the video.
the thing is, if it finds subtitle file, the subtitle file SHOULD be found also in program you are using. This is for simple verification
Again, subs of files whose hash are on the opensubtitles.org are found by Bsplayer, but not by (at least) Opensubtitles downloader or Soleol. But that was yesterday, ‘cause today Soleol crashes as soon as I load a folder. Granted, is a different folder, with different files, but still, I’d appreciate if it worked.
OSCAR - I didnt use it quite long time (I am not longer Windows user), but I guess, it should work, maybe someone else can confirm this
I do confirm it: it doesn’t work.
You can not insert other servers in programs, which support opensubtitles.org. BSPlayer support other servers, because they copy our subtitles to their and other servers, but implements other API
And what’s the obstacle in creating a program that handles your API and, in parallel, the other servers’ API?
Did you tried OpenSubDownloader ?
I did, and it’s the worst crap ever. Like the other programs I tried it doesn’t work, but on top of that it tries to speculate on YOUR work (and mine), and in order to do that includes malware in the software (DRM, limits, etc.). Even the cracked copy I got from a torrent doesn’t do the job. Years ago I tried it and back then I managed to have it work, sort of, but it was annoying because of the interface and useless because of the limit, and I simply continued to use Bsplayer. Bsplayer required to open one by one each episode, but at least it worked, and handled several servers. Now, again, I want to replace it because Bsplayer can’t read the last codecs, and although it still CAN download subs like before, if it can’t display the images of a video it doesn’t do it automatically, and I have to open several menus and submenus to order it to search for subs.
If it can not find some subtitles, download them manually
I don’t want to do that manually, that’s why you have programs (at least in theory), and anyway manual browsing compares the typed titles and not the hash.
FileBot requires you to login with your OpenSubtitles account to limit abuse. Also, it'll increase your daily download quota which will save you trouble down the road.
I don’t like to log in, I don’t like for servers to require log in, I don’t like daily quotas, I don’t like those quotas to increase, and anyway you DON’T NEED to log in in order to check subs availability or download them. Finally, I tried to log in through programs that require it, and they don’t work. None of them.
