o.k. you're right. I have an idx-file and a sub-file. Both work fine for the movie in VLC. To provide them, how do I simply convert it to .txt or .srt?

Hi,

personally I recommend the program Subtitle Edit (http://code.google.com/p/subtitleedit/, http://www.nikse.dk/SubtitleEdit/), have a routine for idx+sub files with rip by Tesserac or Windows.

My apologies SimplyTheBOSS,

the topic in Doom9 is generic, my advise was about one specific program.

You can delete my post if you will.

No need to apologies or deleting anything, I just wanted to mention that it is already there.
