:? Can anyone tell me how to use the Greek subtitles in a movie. The problem is the srt file does not display the characters as Greek but as symbols and not Greek fonts.
Below is a sample from what i see:

( Ôé êÜíåéò; ÌÞðùò åßäåò ôï Íßêõ; ÇìÝñá êáñéÝñáò.
Ãéáôß äå ìïõ åßðå êáíåßò Ï áññáâùíéáóôéêüò óïõ ìÜëëïí Ôé Ýãéíå ìå ôçí åðé÷åßñçóç ôçò )

The same movie with the same srt file On my friends PC is working fine.
Maybe i have to install a software?

You need to install greek fonts on the computer. Not quite sure how to go about that though.

Hey there!

I have the same problem! the greek subtitles i download appear like this :S I watch movies via BSplayer (without the greek subs_ofcourse..). There s something that may be conected to the problem.. Well I don t know.. I m not an expert! I ve bought my pc from the US.. It s a HP laptop and the language is in english... Can that be the reason for not being able to see the proper greek subs? Well, I dont think so.. but .. CAN ANYONE HELP ME? It s really annoying!!

Waitting for ur answers!

There is nothing wrong with the subtitles. If you open the subtitles with microsoft word, up on the top where it says "Text encoding",go from "windows (Default)" to "Other encoding" and select Greek windows, or what ever system you are working with. Change the encoding options and regions on your media players and dvd converters to Greek and every thing should work just fine. :D
