Wilfred (US) ASAP subtitles.

Postby Anton_Rich » Tue Oct 04, 2011 6:20 am

Hi all. I'm trying to improve my English. I am watching the Wilfred series with subtitles. In those subtitles I constantly find mistakes and discrepancies. Can you help me find these mistakes and correct them? My listening skill is not good yet.

Underlined words seem incorrect to me.
Question marks (?) stand for words that I think are missing.

Episode 1 Time: 02:09 - 03:17

R: How you doing?

J: I live next door. We've waved...

R: Course. Ryan.

J: I'm Jenna. Can I get you something?
Orange juices... Medical attention?

R: I'm okay. It's a lack of sleep.

J: Oh God, I know! It's that stupid jerk with his motorcycle.
He drives Wilfred nuts! Sorry about all the noise
that he made, by the way.

R: He just said what we were all thinking, right?

J: I guess. Look, I know we've just met and
this is a huge imposition, but I'm totally desperate.
The exterminator is on his way and I completely forgot
to make arrangements for my dog.
They say that if he lives in the house it's just gonna to kill him.
And so I was wondering if you okay if he stays in your yard
until I (?) return from work.

R: Huh?

J: You're right. That's too much to ask! I'm sorry.

R: No! It's all right...

J: Oh great! Wilfred. Come here, boy.
He's really sweet. There is my little man!
You like dogs?

R: Yeah.

J: Oh great. Well, um... here is few of his toys and some snacks.
Be a good boy. I really appreciate this.

Thanks for your help.

I need some help with a few bits of a movie in English

Postby ceri-chan » Tue Oct 18, 2011 4:44 pm

Hi all . I finally found an old movie "Sonni and Manni" and I got the dvd which has three languages (Islandese, German and English).
I'm making Italian subtitles for it (for my mum) and I'm doing fairly well but for some bits in which I really can't get what they are saying.
So I was wondering if some kind soul could help me with those. They are not many, so far at least :)
Or maybe do you know a forum, a chat where I could find this kind of help?

Why has my post been posted as a reply to this thread? It was a different thread.

Probably because some moderator decided your question was linked and similar to this one. Where is the movie that you need help with and which scenes are they?

"And so I was wondering if you okay if he stays in your yard until I (?) return from work" should be "And so I was wondering if you're okay if he stays in your yard until I return from work"; and
J: Oh great. Well, um... here is few of his toys and some snacks.
Be a good boy. I really appreciate this.

Should be:
J: Oh great. Well, um... here are a few of his toys and some snacks.
Be a good boy. I really appreciate this.
