I can't update a subtitle - file already exists

Sat Jan 11, 2020 2:06 am

I'm trying to update the subtitles for https://www.opensubtitles.org/en/subtit ... ozen-ii-sv, but it keeps stalling and finally returning a 503. When I try accessing any other part of the site, it also returns 503.

Since I've tried a few times, it's been able to get further. But only claiming that the subtitle file already exists. I thought it was versioned on the host and not by me? (I.e I don't need a new file name with every version).

That error 503 is a temporary thing, and has nothing to do with the subs.

If you try to upload and the site says something like "we already have that subtitle as blabla.srt" - then that part "blabla.srt" is a link. Clicking on it will bring you to the duplicate and will probably give you some clue.

No, you don't need a different file name for an update. The only thing needed is actual differences inside the subtitle itself.
