Trying to convert an SRT file to an STL but problem

Thu Jan 12, 2017 10:10 am

Hi,

I've got an SRT file that I'm trying to convert with the software "Subtitle Edit 3.4".

When I convert it, there are some numbers that's being put before every sentence like that :

Those numbers are time codes for the subtitle when to start and when to finish displaying.
"00:01:21:03" is the time code for finishing, the "14" is the last two digits of the time code for starting.

I have the same result when I convert an SRT to STL and use VLC player to playback. VLC player has (or at least had) problems displaying STL files correctly. To me it looks like the player you are using is not supporting the STL format.

It's not really an answer to your question, but why would you want STL instead of SRT? SRT is widely supported.
