It's pretty hard to add a trojan into a text file...
Can you give us the opensubtitles URL, what you did exactly, what was the message and what anti-virus software you are using?
Nowadays a VPN is a must for everyone. A VPN allows you safe surfing and protects you against spying governments and companies.
I advise AirVPN - from € 2,75 per month. Click the below banner for more info.

it was not a text file, sorry, my bad
must have pressed the wrong link, this is the one:

http://www.opensubtitles.org/addons/say ... EVOLVE.mp4

the file it asks to download is ....08.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE.mp4_downloader_de_98828.exe
binary file 6,5 MB from http://inst.express-files.com

the trojan is TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen according to AVIRA Antivir

It's not the first time I see a virus alert or somebody complaining about a virus.

How can you hide a virus in a text file? Or an SRT which is basically text?
The most dangerous thing it could do is corrupt the characters in your screen.

Please, don't try to execute an SRT file. I don't think it's very useful :-D
