[solved] Server issues?

Sun Aug 24, 2014 11:54 am

Hey,

Since a couple of days, i'm recieving 'error searching subtitles' in my raspbmc (xbmc).
And it seems that I can't load the website "http://www.opensubtitles.org' as well.

Is it possible that there are some server issues, or is my internetlink/provider doing something not normal?

where are you from ? today all Europe got some problems with traffic. Everything should work as before. If you can, send some debug info. Also, when nothing works, try to log in in program you are using...

I'm from Belgium. So this could explain the problem then.

Problem was solved a few hours ago. Let us hope that it stays that way. ;-)

Thanks!

Hi, I'm in Brazil and got that problem too for hours.
I got this error message while trying to upload a subtitle:

Code: Select all

Error 503 Service Unavailable Guru Meditation: XID: 3609519004 Varnish cache server
So, I tried to figure out what was happening:

Code: Select all

C:\> ping www.opensubtitles.org Pinging www.opensubtitles.org [92.240.234.122] with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Ping statistics for 92.240.234.122: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
The server was taking too long to respond the request.
Let's try to trace the route from home to OpenSubtitles.org web server:

Code: Select all

C:\> tracert www.opensubtitles.org Tracing route to www.opensubtitles.org [92.240.234.122] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms [undisclosed] 2 * * * [undisclosed] 3 44 ms 23 ms 6 ms [undisclosed] 4 6 ms 7 ms 7 ms [undisclosed] 5 17 ms 23 ms 19 ms [undisclosed] 6 159 ms 31 ms 32 ms [undisclosed] 7 24 ms 34 ms 22 ms [undisclosed] 8 22 ms 58 ms 146 ms xe-4-2-0.ar4.gru1.gblx.net [64.214.61.37] 9 116 ms 134 ms 134 ms ae0-0-40G.ar2.NYC1.gblx.net [67.16.151.74] 10 352 ms * 286 ms tiscali-1.ar2.NYC1.gblx.net [64.208.27.234] 11 304 ms * * xe-2-2-3.lon11.ip4.gtt.net [89.149.183.165] 12 418 ms 431 ms * interoute-gw.ip4.gtt.net [77.67.94.218] 13 * 504 ms 329 ms ae0-0.lon-001-score-1-re0.interoute.net [84.233.218.189] 14 496 ms * 444 ms ae1-0.ams-koo-score-1-re0.interoute.net [84.233.190.57] 15 495 ms 362 ms * ae0-0.ams-koo-score-2-re0.interoute.net [84.233.190.2] 16 * * * Request timed out. 17 492 ms * 378 ms ae1-0.vie-per-score-1-re0.interoute.net [212.23.43.25] 18 * * 392 ms ae0-0.vie-per-score-2-re0.interoute.net [212.23.43.50] 19 * 344 ms * ae1-0.bts-001-score-1-re0.interoute.net [84.233.147.13] 20 * 394 ms 332 ms 89.202.153.150 21 388 ms * * 121.224.240.92.in-addr.arpa.lightstorm.sk [92.240.224.121] 22 338 ms * * 118.224.240.92.in-addr.arpa.lightstorm.sk [92.240.224.118] 23 * * 367 ms www.opensubtitles.org [92.240.234.122] Trace complete.
As you can see above, the problem was not with the www.opensubtitles.org itself.
The servers BEFORE it was taking too long to answer the request.

The problem is happening again (right now is 3:00AM in Brazil).
Can't search, downloading, nothing.
Other sites, like rarbg.com and http://www.addic7ed.com, are running fine, so the problem is not my connection.
Also tried different browsers, clear cookies, nothing helps.
Same problem happened last weekend, from friday night until saturday morning.
I believe it's a DDoS attack, but needs investigation on the server side.
Error message:

Code: Select all

The connection was reset The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading. - The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments. - If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection. - If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

It is strange. When I try from here, it works. Can you try some VPN, proxy, or TOR ?

Yesterday, I had also some issues.
When I searched for downloads with xbmc, nothing. When I searched again, downloads found. When I searched again, nothing, and so on.
Just like the connection was too busy with other things. My internet connection was working like normal for other sites...
